The restaurant was opened in 1960’s, and was named after the nickname of the first owner. Edo Salamon, the first of owner of the place was a seaman who sailed at the time when Lyndon B. Johnson was the President of the United States. Since Edo was a great admirer of President Johnson, he was given a nickname after him which, consequently, became the name of the restaurant. Intriguingly, the restaurant has kept its name up to this day, and nowadays the restaurant offers a sophisticated gastronomic tale and a different experience of the Kvarner gastronomic offer.

Since 1996, the restaurant has been run by Jurdana family. Dragan Jurdana is the face of the Johnson restaurant and a great sea enthusiast which is also one of the reasons why the restaurant has a very specialized offer.

He will greet you together with his team, recommend you the best meals and do whatever he can that you leave the Johnson with the perfect feeling on your palate and in your mind.
